Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor

Tala has experience and specialized training in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults struggling with mood, emotion regulation, attachment, trauma, life transitions, interpersonal conflict, and low self-esteem. 

 

Tala believes in tailoring her approach based on the individual, their temperament, their history, and their needs. She values taking time to build a relationship with her clients through her genuine demeanor and presence. Tala believes that the therapeutic relationship is a guiding force of growth and healing and aims to foster a safe and comfortable therapeutic space. 

 

Tala provides talk and play therapy that utilizes an integrative approach rooted in Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Adlerian therapy. She incorporates elements such as breathwork, body-mind connection, and nature therapy to create a holistic approach and allow the client to build their own toolbox that works for them as a unique individual. As a first-generation American, Tala is passionate about exploring the complexity of the first generation and immigrant experience. Tala maintains sensitivity to racial and cultural differences. 

 

Tala is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor practicing under the supervision of Dr. Courtney Glickman. She obtained her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Tala is working towards certification to become a Registered Play Therapist.
